Ted was put in an orphanage in the former Soviet Union at the age of 3. By the time he was 9, he felt hopeless. But one day, he received a shoebox gift that brought him joy. When he later received Christ into his life, he likened it to the hope he received when he opened that shoebox--his first gift ever.
