After Hurricane Helene swept across western North Carolina, Swannanoa suffered major losses after devastating floods damaged homes, roads, and the livelihoods of many people who are still trying to restore their community. The road to recovery has been tough for Swannanoa, as people still do not have access to clean drinking water, and widespread damage is still across the Land of the Sky. Samaritan's Purse was ready to swiftly respond to help out the Swannanoa community and remind them that the sorrow brought by Hurricane Helene is temporary, but God and His love for all of us is eternal. Our network of volunteers continues to clear the debris left behind from the storm. Our clean water station is pumping out of the Swannanoa River to ensure that every person in western North Carolina has drinkable water as they work hard to recover from Hurricane Helene.
