In response to Hurricane Helene's unprecedented destruction to the communities of western North Carolina, Samaritan's Purse responded with an unprecedented civilian air campaign to reach the areas of the High Country still cut off from the rest of the world. From smaller Bell 407 helicopters to full-sized CH-47 Chinooks, our base of operations in Boone has been airlifting essential supplies such as food, water, generators, heating supplies, and whatever our home community needs to survive as we all continue to restore western North Carolina.
