Delivering Hope to Italy

Nadia and Vladimir’s Story

Siblings Nadia Karnatova and Vladimir Prokhnevskiy received shoeboxes while growing up in Ukraine. Natasha’s Story

Natasha Ivanova was born and raised in Belarus were she became disabled as a result of the 1986 Chernobyl accident. Although forced to attend a special school far away from her family, at this orphanage she received an Operation Christmas Child shoebox gift. She kept the gift for years and later said that it helped her “know that there was a God who made me for who I am and loves me unconditionally.”

My Life Is a Gift

At age 15, Sheena Basemera traveled from Uganda to the United States to receive life-saving heart surgery arranged by Samaritan’s Purse. Several years later she received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior through a follow-up event of our Children’s Heart Project. She now works in Uganda as Samaritan’s Purse project officer for the Children’s Heart Project there and recently returned to the United States as a translator, interpreting for a critically ill child in our program.
