Mariya Snizhko was born in the Ukraine in 1991, the same year the Soviet Union fell. Even though her parents worked full-time jobs, they didn't receive their paychecks. As a result, there was no money available to buy the art supplies she loved. Yet when she received an Operation Christmas Child shoebox gift around the age of 11, the markers, crayons, and colored pencils inside showed her in a powerful way that God loved her.
