How The Gospel Changed An Isolated Amazon Village Forever: Bringing The Gospel To The Chapra People

In the isolated jungles of Peru, the chief of the Chapra village was facing a tough crisis as his son, Moises, was gravely ill. When taking his son to several witch doctors in the area yielded no results, a Christian missionary visited the village and persuaded the chief to put all of his faith in God to heal his son. Moises would later begin to heal, and his story helped embolden the village's faith in God. Earlier this year, teaching the Gospel within the village became much easier as translators collaborated with Operation Christmas Child to create the first printed book in the Chapra language, featuring a version of The Greatest Journey discipleship program. The miraculous healing of Moises, the joy of shoebox gifts for each child in the village, and the first-ever discipleship book in the Chapra language have forever changed a village that may have been isolated from the world, but was never too isolated to be touched by the Gospel.
