International Crisis Response | 14:57 IP-260309_South Sudan_Church

The Second Sudan Civil War was one of the darkest moments for Christians in South Sudan. After the coup of 1989, over 500 churches were destroyed, and the Christian community of the region was scattered. However, despite the overwhelming destruction, Samaritan's Purse would travel and work alongside these war-torn communities with the goal of rebuilding every church destroyed by the conflict. Discover the inspiring story of how these communities have overcome the horrors of war and rebuilt 513 churches that have stood as a symbol of hope for the people of South Sudan for over 20 years.
