When Bat Cave, NC, was forever changed by Hurricane Helene, the Bat Cave Fire & Rescue Department was the first group to help evacuate their small, remote community. Stephen Freeman, the Fire Chief of the Bat Cave Fire & Rescue Department, was in his garage when his house began to crumble from the rushing flood. However, Stephen miraculously survived and was committed to serving his community. In the end, Stephen is thankful that the strength of the Bat Cave community and support from Samaritan's Purse continues to turn a historic storm into a sign of God's love.
