A Neighborhood Comes Together Amidst Helene's Destruction

When Helene first hit North Carolina with devastating floods, Jacob Wallace was in Canada, while Brantley Wallace was at home with her kids when the floods first reached her house. Thankfully, Brantley didn't have to evacuate her family alone, as her neighbor came in to help everyone get to safety. While the Wallace's house wasn't destroyed, there was still overwhelming work to fix the houses around the neighborhood. However, the volunteers of Samaritan's Purse came to help after the storm by cleaning out the damaged houses and helping each family take the first step to recovering their homes. After the volunteers were done, this wave of generosity inspired the Wallace family and their neighbors to continue to help one another as they turned this terrible storm into a great bonding moment for the community.
