Natasha Ivanova was born and raised in Belarus were she became disabled as a result of the 1986 Chernobyl accident. Although forced to attend a special school far away from her family, at this orphanage she received an Operation Christmas Child shoebox gift. She kept the gift for years and later said that it helped her "know that there was a God who made me for who I am and loves me unconditionally."
